Mustang III FB166 flown by Sqdn Ldr Eugeniusz Horbaczewski, OC No 315 Sqdn, Brenzett, June 1944. This machine has the DDAY stripes all over the fuselage and wings. This new skin was planned to be a "Snapshot" subject for any RAF slots you desire. To do so, drop all the .3dz and .tpc files to the game's directory and them go to the Snapshot and type this: 1)-snaps P51B Mustang_III "Mustang III" (press enter) now type: 2)-insts XXXX P51B Mustang_III "Mustang III" cd Mustang_III (press enter) done! -XXXX means the slot you want to place the Mustang (SP2A, HURR, etc...) The new 3dz has a NEW spinner/prop view in the medium distance (PP51BM.3DZ). For those who want to update their Mustangs with this new feature, pay close atention to some new objects palced on the .PCX file. The best way is to past it all and drop over your skin. don't forget to take the new PP51BM.3DZ! The new wing view was done to make the skin much easier. The file for the new wing skin is the "PMUS3V.TPC" and you MUST drop it anyway or the game will crash! For more details, cwrio@novanet.com.br - Claudio Wilches

Read me for the 3dz model:

This P51B was developed from work that was done by George Lekko, aka "Geo", to heavily modify the old PAW Mustang 3dz. His generosity in offering to modify the 3dz files to allow for a EAW style prop and transparent canopy, led to further refinements, such as the non-mirror effect, fixture of single insignia, and correct drop tank/bomb placement. Cord did the shadow file for the P51, while Claudio made a different shadow file for the British Mustang III.

Geo's efforts and skill provided a great base for me to work with to further complete the P51B shape. It is actually more his plane than mine. I added a new correct nose shape and spinner and changed the wing tips and rear deck shape slightly to more accurately capture the P51B's shape. I also made the 354th FG skin for the new model.

Claudio also helped here. He made the new medium distance model, which now has a spinner and clear canopy, and a new British Mustang III skin for it.

To use, just copy and paste all .3dz and .tpc files into the EAW main directory.

Cheers
